We cannot wait. And here is Emily (one of our brand new exhibitors to confirm their place at the event) to kick start today’s Exhibitors Exposed:

Who are you and what do you do?

Hello, I’m Emily, a recent newly-wed and crafter. I married my lovely husband, Pete, on 11th June 2011 in Leeds Town Hall. Having been sewing and making crafts for a few years I decided to make all the decorations for our wedding. I loved creating our wedding so much and the end result was just perfect – every bit of the wedding was ours, personal and unique to us and our friends and families.Since the wedding, I have been asked to make so many things, and the requests to hire our bunting are still coming. So this, and the fact that every spare minute of my day is spent happily at the sewing machine, has inspired me to make crafting a bigger part of my life.

If I can help other brides-to-be make their wedding unique and as personal to them, in a way that reflects their style and personality, and love it as much as we loved our wedding, then my job is done!

If you weren’t doing what you are, what do you think you would you be doing?

Well, I guess, as I still work full-time (not making crafts unfortunately!) I use the rest of the hours in the week making things, most recently bunting and sofa cushions for my work’s card and gift shop, and for my sister who has just had my new little nephew. This means lots of late nights and early mornings (there is always time for crafts before work!) so if I wasn’t doing what I am, I would probably be getting more sleep or spending more time with my husband Pete (I am very lucky he is so supportive 🙂 That, or swing dancing, my second most favourite thing to do!
If you could style any brides wedding in the world (famous or not), who would it be?
My friend Laura. Laura is one of my oldest and closest friends and has been with her man for about 8/9 years now so it was a pretty big deal when they got engaged last month! Whilst she likes nice pretty things, she is not massively girly herself. She is a very lovely, friendly and bubbly person, with lots of friends and lots of interests. So, bearing this in mind, there is neither a particular colour scheme, style nor theme that instantly jumps out. Laura and her partner also have quite opposite personalities too so, whilst I know Laura really well, I think it will be quite a challenge styling something that reflects both the bride and the groom, and something that they both love. She has recruited me as her ‘Creative Director‘ already so I better get my thinking cap on 🙂
Katy Perry, although I know she is already married, would have also been a good choice – not just because I think she is super cool, but imagine all the crazy, colourful and amazing things she would go for!
What are you most looking forward to at the wedding event with a difference?
I am massively excited to be coming to the Wedding Event with a Difference; not just because it is my first wedding show as an exhibitor (so I get to show off all my crafts that I love making), and the fact that I get to come along to a wedding show even after I am married, but also because I love the ‘with a difference’ bit! There is nothing better than a wedding with a difference – couples who want to make their day their own, add some uniqueness and individual style. I am really looking forward to meeting and chatting with brides to be and other exhibitors, and  I hope my work can will help provide some inspiration and ideas.

Who are you and what do you do?

I’m Ruth from Nottingham, I’ve been singing in piano bars, at parties & at corporate functions around the East Midlands for over a year. I perform songs from the 60’s right up to the modern day with either a guitarist, a pianist or both. I offer cool, acoustic sets when playing with my guitarist, uptempo & modern songs with the pianist and something a little bit rockier when we all perform together!

If you weren’t doing what you are, what do you think you would you be doing?

To be honest, I’m very lucky to not only sing & perform, but I also help plan weddings at a venue in Derbyshire and host events at a lovely venue in Nottingham!

If I wasn’t doing either…I’d probably be trying to start up my own music festival somewhere!

If you could sing for anyone in the world, who would it be?

Well, Ellie Goulding was a lucky lady performing for Kate and Wills on their wedding day. I would have been pretty happy doing that…

What are you most looking forward to at the wedding event with a difference?

I’m looking forward to meeting people & seeing their reaction to my music. I’m looking forward to performing some classic songs that you may have forgotten about & with so many fab exhibitors attending, I’m looking forward to having a good look around after I’ve finished my set!

Who are you and what do you do?

Hello! We are Whesthill aka Kate & Judith, we create totally bespoke wedding stationery that can be be as simple or as elaborate as you wish. All our stationery is made and printed in house – so we can be as creative as you wish. We embellish stationery with ribbon, foil, diamante, venues or simply just your names – using colour and texture to make a statement.

If you weren’t doing what you are, what do you think you would you be doing?

Kate – I think I would be a full time Mum to Jack and Emily – although after attending a wedding fayre with Judith I saw the opportunity of being part of Whesthill  – setting the tone for a bride and grooms big day by creating invitation’s for them that no other couple getting married would have.

Judith – Chasing Sheep!! My husband is a farmer and has been for many years. Although I much prefer to sit in our office with beautiful views of the Peak District creating stationery with a contemporary twist.

If you could design a piece of wedding stationery for anyone in the world, who would it be?

Every bride and groom is special to Whesthill. Just being a part of their day hearing their ideas (and adding a few little touches of our own!) we bounce ideas between ourselves and the Bride and Groom, and eventually – maybe a few weeks  later – the thoughts and ideas becomes a reality when the sample invitation arrives in the post.

What are you most looking forward to at the wedding event with a difference?

We are most looking forward to meeting you the Brides and Grooms – getting the opportunity to talk to bride and grooms is what we enjoy most. We are now busy working away creating samples that nobody will ever have seen before Save the Date Event with a Difference – a whole range of stationery new for 2012, we look forward to seeing you there!!
