Enter The Enchanted Forest ~ Theme Thursday

If you are a lover of nature and all things natural you’ll no doubt love this enchanted forest wedding theme.

This theme is all about nature. To get the woodland look you’ll want to follow nature’s colour palette of greens, browns and floral shades. When it comes to dressing your bridesmaids, earthy pastel greens would look wonderful, especially if you opt for dresses with a different shade of green for each bridesmaid.

For the decorations, you’ll be able to gather some of these yourself for free. You’ll need things such as branches, a variety of different foliage, flowers, pine cones – anything like that. These items can be easily found in your garden or local country park. Ask around your friends, family, and neighbours to see if they have anything in their garden that could be used as decoration. Contact your local tree surgeon to see if they can give you any slices of tree trunks. However, if you are someone who loves a bit of glamour you could always add some metallic decorations to give your wedding day some sparkle. Gold and bronze would compliment the earthy tones of this theme.

A lovely idea for your favours would be to give your guests some seeds in nice packaging or a little plant to take away with them and to grow. Planted in their gardens, the plant would be a nice reminder of their time at your wedding.

If you decide to have your wedding in a woodland area then the scene will already be set. Why not dress the surrounding trees up with fairy lights or festoon lighting on the tree branches. You could add household items to your decorations, such as vintage tea cups and candle holders, and have plants growing out of these items. Old books work really well with this theme, stacked up on tables as centre pieces or using them as a stand for your woodland cake. This would give your wedding that overgrown, mystical and magical vibe.

This is definitely a theme you can play around with and add your own personal touches to. You can make this theme subtle with little bits of foliage here and there, or you can all out and create your own enchanted forest.

Here is some inspiration to get your ideas flowing on how you could create a wedding in mother nature’s image:
