| STYLED SHOOT | The Cambridge Elopement
Introduction
Modern yet timeless design
With heaps of monochromatic throughout the styling and photography, we really get to focus a lot on the textures and shapes within this shoot. We simply adore the stylish look and the idea of a modern yet timeless design. Highlighting effortless style whilst making it affordable. Although typically monochromatic palettes are seen in a more contemporary style. We love how this is injected with a vintage twist showing how it can be flexible for the present-day couple.
Molly says…
“When thinking about what we wanted from this shoot, Lucie Watson Photography and I wanted to create something fresh and modern but that had a nod to the nostalgia of love through the ages. I’ve always loved the intimacy that an elopement allows.
The innocent love and childish nature that comes with elopement rituals is what initially attracted both myself and Lucie to creating a shoot in style such as this. We were both dedicated to finding local and talented suppliers as Cambridge is home to hundreds of industry professionals and as a city they take pride in their local community.”
The Venue…
The quirky hotel is nestled alongside the riverbank and is described as an ‘idyllic retreat inspired by centuries of rich traditions, storied histories and academic life.”
Post hotel the shoot took to the streets. Cambridge is known to be home to one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in the world, but it is so much more than that.
The city thrives on independent business and sense of community as well as maintaining its quaint and quintessentially British demeanour. The cobbled streets are lined with stunning architecture and opportunities for worldwide travellers to come and have a taste of what it means to be truly english.

The variations of deep purple give real depth of colour and are a welcome change from the usual burnt orange and brown we see this time of year. Teamed with the hunter green, these colours are perfect for both indoor and outdoor as highlighted in the final images.
