It’s Friday and you know what that means ….. a DIY session with the lovely Chloe from Adore
. This woman makes me feel like the least creative person in the world (possibly because I am) …. oh how I would love to have a talent for making stuff. On that note, the talent of creatives at the Wedding Event with a Difference
this October is simply amazing and make me feel even more useless but seriously, for any of you brides out there, it is inspiration heaven.
Anyway, over to Chloe:
Happy weekend, how are you doing?
It’s been a busy few weeks at Adore HQ but I found a little time earlier this week to get my craft on and make some pretty DIY cake stands for a tea party I’m styling in a few weeks…
They are made by recycling very standard household items, in fact the only special thing you’ll need is a porcelain paint pen if you want to hand paint your plate too! I used two plain glass candle sticks, a small frosted candle plate, a small white side plate, lace and some beads.
For the chevron painted cake stand I hand painted a white side plate with my special pen… as it was my first time I stuck to a simple pattern but you could get really creative and decorate as artistically as you dare!
Once it was dry I just had to super glue it to one of my glass candle sticks and it’s done!
For the second cake stand I wrapped my small frosted candle plate a few times with lace and tied underneath before supergluing to the candle stick as before. I also added some beads for some extra prettiness but you could also use old sparkly earrings?!
What do you think?
