Wool Wrapped Letters
Hi there, how is your summer going (aside from the lack of sunshine!)? Today I’m recycling a DIY project which I made a few months ago as it’s one of my favourites. I still look at the results everyday in my kitchen 🙂 It takes a bit of time and patience but you will get better quickly once you’ve done a few letters so if you’re doing this for your wedding I’d suggest a few practice runs first – the results are well worth it!
To make you’ll need large cardboard letters (I bought mine from Hobbycraft), double sided sticky tape, different coloured wool and some scissors…
Start by attaching the end of your wool to the back of a letter with double sided tape, peeling of the sticky you’ve left to hold the wool you wrap around in place too. I also stuck tape around each edge of the letter, just to keep things secure!
I wrapped my letters twice e.g. horizontally and vertically to cover all the edges / sides, figuring out the best order to do this is definitely where the practice comes in handy!
Once you’ve completely wrapped the letter secure underneath with more tape… if you can neatly tie this is even better but quite fiddly! See how much better my ‘E’ was as it was the last one I did?!
And here’s the final result, I might re-do ‘O’ one day but I like them and they looked great in the photo shoot I used them for!
Happy DIY-ing and have a lovely weekend!
