DIY – Fortnightly Friday!

Explore our cream of the crop suppliers

Hello everyone 🙂 it’s Chloe here from www.lovemakingit.co.uk, soon to be Adore by Chloe. I hope you’ve all had a good few weeks and enjoyed making the fabric flowers from last time?! I managed to find a supplier on Etsy which makes them into beautiful wedding bouquets ~www.blueorchidfloral.etsy.com

This week I’m sharing a simple ‘save the date’ card, which are sent to your guests in advance of your invitations to ask them to reserve the date of your wedding and spread the word about the celebrations to come!

DIY wedding stationary is a great way to add a personal touch to your big day but remember to keep your design relatively simple (which can still be very effective). After you’ve made 30 of the same card you’ll see what I mean!

Here’s an example that I made using some gorgeous patterned paper (from Hobbycraft):

If you’d like your stationary to be more detailed / extravagant I’d advise using a specialist wedding stationer. We are very lucky in the East Midlands to have some fantastic local suppliers like Sugalily and Lucy Ledger to name just two! You can still incorporate some special DIY touches somewhere else in your big day, keep reading for more ideas over the next few months!

Another way to keep your ‘Save The Date’ cards simple (and to have some fun) is to use photos from your engagement photo shoot in your design, like these from Butterworth Photography:

I’ll be back in a fortnight with some more DIY wedding ideas, if there is anything in particular you’d like me to cover please leave me a comment below!!

Thanks,

Chloe x
