Hello & Welcome

So, your brand new sparkly engagement ring has now found its rightful home on your fourth finger, the feeling of elation and shock has begun to subside, the face ache from all the smiling is easing and you’ve announced your big news to all your family and friends. Now what?

Keep reading and we'll tell you ...

So, before you go any further, we are here to help you

It’s a strange feeling when you just get engaged. You are of course deliriously happy and overjoyed at this momentous step in your life but when you start to think about the ‘W’ word … your mind begins to boggle. Mum wants you to have a traditional church ceremony, nana doesn’t fly so you can’t possibly do it abroad, you’d love to get married outside with a tipi but what about the weather, your dream wedding venue is about ten times over your budget and you’re already being asked who you’re having as your bridesmaids. The man in your life is quite possibly so relieved at having overcome the scary proposal and received the answer he was hoping for that he is now of the ‘my job is done’ attitude … so it’s over to you.

So, before you go any further, we are here to help you. All the team behind Save the Date are either married or engaged so we’ve all been in your shoes. And we can totally appreciate, it can be a rather daunting place to be. You feel like there’s a million decisions to be made and you just don’t know where to begin. Well, the answer is right here.

We will be by your side every step of the way

We will be by your side every step of the way, holding your hand through the entire planning journey and easing you into it gently.

The first place to start will of course be to ‘find your venue’ but it’s difficult if you have no idea what you are looking for. If that’s the case for you then a good starting point would be to have a nosey at other people’s weddings …. You can get so much inspiration and ideas just by searching through real weddings, real brides and real grooms who have been there, done that and bought the t-shirt/dress …. We’ve got so many weddings on here for you to get inspired by – from rustic DIY weddings to elegant weddings in castles, boho brides wearing wellies in a field to sunshine weddings abroad.

So, before you go any further, dedicate a whole week or more to trawling through these real weddings, decide what you like, what you don’t like, what’s up your street, what inspires you. We don’t advocate copy cats but let’s face it, we all get our ideas from others; whether it’s our hairstyle, what we wear, where we go on holiday, the interiors of our house … so why should weddings be any different? We are by no means saying that weddings should be carbon copies of one another and obviously each and every wedding is unique to the couple, but being a little nosey never harmed anyone …

Don't forget your checklist

Once you’ve done a bit of real bride stalking (and not in a creepy way) you might feel a little more confident about the style you’re going to want. Then, it’s time to get searching for your venue and before you know it, you’ll be booking those all important suppliers in our ‘Find your Supplier‘ area and ticking off that to-do list. Plus, to make your life easier, just add your favourite venues and suppliers to your Wedding Notebook where you can drop them a line and share your findings with your family and friends. Keep an eye out for the symbol throughout the site.

And of course, we wouldn’t be a proper wedding website if we didn’t offer you a checklist …. So here you go, download this rather pretty to-do list and enjoy the planning. And finally, don’t forget to subscribe to our magazine, either digitally or printed and you can make sure you don’t miss out on any of our wedding loveliness and keep up to date with all our upcoming events so you can meet our suppliers in person; because it’s always nice to put a face to the name.

We hope our website proves an invaluable tool for you in your wedding planning journey.
