Bright and Botanical Shoot at The Kedleston Country House
Get ready to SWOON...
Part of the Honeysuckle & Castle collection, The Kedleston Country House is a hidden gem in the East Midlands and it really does have SO much to offer for your special day. With a wonderful team of suppliers on board to help, this shoot really does showcase the venue at it's best. Olivia of Honeysuckle & Castle is here to share the story behind the shoot!
BRINGING THE OUTSIDE IN...
“The inspiration from the shoot came from ‘bringing the outside in’; Lianne of Foyetography and Jilly of Essentially Floral teamed up to provide some stunning bright colours, mixed in with tropical fruits and lots of greenery. The shoot also has an old school fairytale vibe – the aged contorted wood and faux Longhorn cattle scull adds a touch of darkness, teamed up with the dark berry fruits and gold detailing for luxury.”
A FABULOUS TEAM OF SUPPLIERS...
“Lianne Foye of Foyetography created the concept for the shoot, enlisting a fabulous team of suppliers to help achieve the vision for the day: a tropical paradise, bringing the outside in. Essentially Floral used lots of greenery and foliage with pops of bright colour in the Orangery, with moss-covered pots and hand-tied chair decorations along the aisle, and a statement floral ceiling structure with peony, rose and clematis in a gorgeous coral pink colour. The ceremony backdrop was an intricate macrame design, handmade by Clove & Hitch, and provided by Orange Tree Weddings.”
FLORALS GALORE...
“The tablescape had a gorgeous floral centrepiece, with aged contorted wood and a faux Longhorn cattle skull for decadence. Gold cutlery and dark berry fruits including lychee, pomegranate and figs lined the tables, with tall candles in pink candle holders and accenting vases too. The Cake Spa provided a stunning three tier wedding cake with a printed wafer paper wrap in a tropical leaf pattern for a real statement. Decorated with florals and fruits, and table decorated to tie in with the other styling elements such as the gold ribbon and fern foliage.”
A STRIKING BRIDAL LOOK...
“Our bridal model for the day had a stunning, striking look, which Amazing Grace Hair & Makeup Artist really wanted to accentuate. Opting for a classic, slicked back look to show off the model’s features the model had fresh, glowing skin and bright, energetic eye makeup in keeping with the tropical theme, highlighting the gorgeous bright colours in the hand-tied bouquet, with the ribbon provided by Laikstyle. Our bride wore the stunning ‘Bay’ dress and ‘Katt’ jacket from the Core Collection from Susanna Greening Designs, and the silk kimono, cami and shorts for ‘bridal prep’ photos were provided by Roisin Reuss.”
A HIDDEN GEM...
“The Kedleston Country House and its stunning Orangery has gorgeous panoramic views of the Derbyshire countryside – meaning it was the perfect location for this bright, botanical Summer wedding inspiration shoot. Set in the historic Kedleston estate, this stunning Georgian property has been transformed into a modern country house, which is cosy yet inviting, with hidden nooks nestled in every corner. The venue also has five boutique bedrooms which we took advantage of on the photoshoot, showcasing our bride getting ready and enjoying the countryside views.”
