Amalfi White – Melbourne’s newest restaurant & wedding venue
When the new restaurant Amalfi White landed on the scene, we heard A LOT about it. Lots of our friends and suppliers were paying the Melbourne based establishment a visit and telling us we simply HAVE to go.
We were then sent a photo shoot courtesy of the lovely Karen at Darby and Joan Vintage which took place at Amalfi White and saw what a stunning venue this really was. Chic and stylish, minimal and understated, needless to say, we published the photo shoot in our magazine and called to book ourselves a table at the most talked about restaurant in town.
Arriving on a Saturday evening, we were greeted by a friendly waitress who took our coats and directed us to our table. At just 6.30pm, the restaurant was already busy and with a great, vibrant atmosphere. The staff were beyond friendly and couldn’t do enough for their guests, extremely attentive.
Lizzy, owner of Amalfi White, soon introduced herself and kindly took us on a little tour. Beginning with the Ballroom, Lizzy opened the doors and we took a step back – wow, what a room. Complete with huge windows, eight incredible chandeliers, sleek decor and elegant furnishings, slick, stylish and exuding sophistication, the room is simply perfect for a glamorous wedding reception.
Back downstairs into the restaurant, the prosecco bar is the hub of all activity at Amalfi White. With talented bar flarers creating divine cocktails, guests sit on bar stools and stylish sofas sipping on cosmos and daiquris, laughing and chatting away. Then, towards the back of the restaurant is a private area where a hen party were gathered giggling, taking pictures of each other and generally having a great time. The ideal space for a celebration.
Having sat back down, it was time to eat. And the food certainly lived up to expectations. Gorgeous Italian delicacies, wood fired pizzas, antipastis, beautiful breads, along with fish, meat and of course, pasta all feature on the menu.
Efficient service combined with amazing food and drinks makes for a fantastic, laid back and truly authentic Italian dining experience.
So, if you are planning your big day and trying to find your dream venue then make sure you pay Amalfi White a visit. With the most fantastic staff, a stylish approach to weddings, amazing food and a stunningly romantic venue, it could be the perfect place for your magical day.
(Amalfi White are offering to reduce the cost of a wedding by 10% for any weddings booked at Lace Market Hotel between now and April 2015)
It just leaves us to say a big thank you to Lizzy and the team at Amalfi White for their kind hospitality – just need to plan our next trip over to Melbourne!
