A Bride’s Journal | Bex & Ryan | Part One |
You may have spotted our Bridal Journals with Emma, Jade and Katie, and we’re pleased as punch to introduce another couple to the series. Meet Bex & Ryan! This lovely couple are tying the knot at The Walled Gardens in Spring 2020, so let’s find out a little more about the bride and groom and their big day…
Tell us a little bit about yourselves?
I’m Bex, 25 and I work in PR & Marketing. I work for a not-for-profit in the day, and by night I freelance with local businesses. Ryan is 27 and works in manufacturing. We love The US Office and eating.
How did you and your husband-to-be meet?
Instagram… he followed me, liked a few of my pictures so I sent him a direct message. We went on a date about a month later and that was that!
How did he propose?
We were in the Lake District in Ambleside and went on a walk to Stock Ghyll waterfalls. We were really lucky to have the space to ourselves because I had no idea what was coming and swore at him for about 15 minutes before saying yes and calling my mum.
Have you chosen your wedding venue?
Yes! The Walled Gardens! We actually found them via Save the Date Magazine and fell in love as soon as the lovely Ella from the venue gave us a tour.
How long to go until your big day?
Just over a year.. we get married on the 17th April 2020.
What’s been your favourite part of wedding planning so far?
Can I say all of it? I’m a very organised person and I love project planning, which is exactly how I’ve tackled our wedding.
What’s been your least favourite part of wedding planning?
Probably deciding who we want to work with. I do not regret any of our choices, but since expanding my freelance work I’ve met so many amazing suppliers in the industry and wish I could have more than one wedding just to work with them all.
What element of your wedding is most important to you both?
Whilst we (me) want the venue to look incredible, it’s so important to us that everyone has the best time, not just us. I just have this vision of it being the happiest, most fun day ever.
Describe how you want your wedding day to be in three words?
Best, day, ever.
We’re so looking forward to getting to know the gorgeous Bex & Ryan, so keep an eye out for their next instalment! In the meantime, you’ll find plenty of swoon-worthy wedding inspo to keep you going over on the blog!
