Based in Nottingham and one of our ‘Cream of the Crop’ suppliers, this dream-team are utterly passionate about capturing those special moments in time during your big day. Their strapline of ‘Capturing awe and elegance’ really does encapsulate their ethos for natural, storytelling photography and videography. Having recently taken the plunge to beautifully rebrand, we caught up with the faces behind the new look “Weddings by Harry and Annie” to find out more.

First of all, can you tell us the reasons and inspiration behind your rebrand?

Sure! Annie and I have been together now for eight years and we have worked together for four of those, so we thought it was about time our businesses represented that. We had been thinking about rebranding for a long time and it was not until this time last year that we finally took the plunge and began speaking with a designer who specialised in this field. We really wanted our new brand to represent us and our relationship with our couples as well as the services we offer. We wanted a classic, clean and luxurious image to reflect those attributes and that is why we decided to go with the royal blue and gold colour scheme. We wanted our couples to feel that they are part of an exclusive club, as they cannot get the services we offer anywhere else. We feel our new brand represents this.

What is your signature approach to wedding photography?

We always find this hard to answer as we try not to fit ourselves into a box so to speak. We find that many couples prefer candid photographs to more formal shots but we don’t find ourselves acting as flies on the wall. Our approach is personal and unique to every couple. Annie is often referred to as one of the bridesmaids after she has spent the morning with the bridal party. We like to get to know all of our couples and this really helps as everyone then feels comfortable when they’re faced with a camera. We know that you feel the happiest you have ever felt in your life on your wedding day, you are both completely full of emotion. Our job, we feel, is to help express that in your photographs, so that when you look back you can remember not just what happened, but how you were feeling.

What is your favourite part of a wedding to shoot?

Oh dusk, for sure! We love taking our couples out at golden hour for their intimate session. Often it can be the first time they’ve had any time to themselves for the entire day, so it usually offers time to reflect back. Coupled with the beautiful light, we hardly have to give any direction to capture timeless photographs of them.

Any pro-tips for couples feeling nervous about having their picture taken?

Relax and enjoy the moment. We have just had a photoshoot of ourselves done, so we know it’s easier said than done but when you’re in the moment, you will not be worried about everything going on around you or how you look. Don’t be apprehensive; be positive and confident, and most importantly enjoy it! We tend to keep our distance to let the couple enjoy their time together to begin with, before moving in closer and working with them to create any inspiring photos they may have found before their wedding.

Are you able to offer videography as well as photography in one package?

Yes, we do. Our most popular package is our ‘I Want It All’ package which includes full day photography and videography coverage as well as an engagement shoot. We will then create two films, one meticulously edited short film and one feature length film, which encapsulates the entire day.
